Average base salary 2016_current

Definition

The gender pay gap for an organisation is the difference between women’s and men’s average earnings, expressed as a percentage of men’s earnings. The gender pay gap is presented at the total organisation level, as well as for managerial categories and non-manager groups.

The average salary for a group of employees, the weighted average of salary data is taken across each category within the group, where the salary data is weighted against the number of women or men in the specific category. This measure is used as some organisations submit their organisation's average salary data by category in their aggregated workplace profile. Weighting is used to ensure that we are not incorrectly averaging an average.
